Thesys C1 API connects intelligence and system layers to generate real-time adaptive AI interfaces with dynamic components

Every product we use today, be it dashboards or delivery apps, is built on a simple assumption: designers can predict what users will do next. But that assumption is breaking down as AI interfaces take center stage in how we work and interact.

With AI in the loop predictability disappears and there is no clear single “next step”. Each question or command creates its own path, forcing interfaces to adapt in real time to context and intent.

As AI evolves from a tool that responds to commands to something that works with us, the concept of “interface design” also shifts. LLMs understand natural language, interpret context and adapt to each user, enabling greater personalization and customization.

Every user, query, and goal now looks slightly different. And while the old one-size-fits-all playbook should be out the window, most interfaces are still stuck there.

The result? We've reached a point where people spend more time navigating interfaces than actually getting things done.

We bend our workflow to fit the UI, instead of the UI adapting to how we work.

And while products often promise “personalization,” they rarely deliver it in a meaningful way. Your Netflix homepage isn’t truly yours, it’s just a shuffled version of everyone else’s. The business dashboard might greet you by name, but it still shows the same widgets as your colleague’s.

That’s where generative UI changes everything. Instead of relying on fixed layouts built for imagined users, it generates AI interfaces dynamically, shaping itself around your intent, your context, and your goal in that moment.

Instead of relying on fixed layouts built for imagined users, it generates the interfaces that reason, adapt, and respond in real time based on user intent. The future of AI interfaces isn’t static or predesigned. It’s generative.

The Problem with Today’s Static AI Interfaces

Let’s talk about tools that we use daily. Dashboards that bury the one metric you care about. CRM that shows endless data, but needs three filters to surface any relevant insight. E-commerce apps that make you scroll through pages of products you will never buy.

They all look great, but are rarely frictionless; forcing users to spend hours looking for the right filter, exporting data and jumping between tools to get a single task done.

The cost is productivity. Teams and users wasting time on how to get the data instead of using it.

That wasted time is what is known as interaction cost, the hidden price of using static interfaces. Every extra click, scroll, or export adds friction between intent and outcome. It’s invisible in the moment but compounds fast across teams.

On top of that, inaction quietly seeps in as comprehension reduces. Users stop engaging, not due to lack of curiosity, but because the interface makes even the simplest of tasks harder to navigate.

Static designs result in fatigue and friction leading to a drop in user engagement. And that’s where the need for a new kind of interface begins.

Enter Generative UI - AI Interfaces That Build Themselves

Traditional interfaces force you to adapt to fixed tools whereas Generative UI builds the interface around your intent in that moment.

Think of a dashboard where you ask “show me top-performing regions this quarter," and you get a chart instantly. No exporting data or applying filters. Ask a follow up and the interface adapts on the fly.

Or picture a support agent typing "open tickets by priority." Instead of getting a massive table of data, they see a clean heatmap that makes the patterns obvious.

Generative UI figures out intent and context and assembles the right components, turning input into interaction and test responses into structured, visual outcomes. This in turn, allows you to complete the tasks and get the desired results faster.

This shift from static to generative isn't theoretical. It's happening now, and it requires new infrastructure.

At Thesys, we're rebuilding the interface layer between users and AI systems.

We built C1, an API that sits on top of LLMs and generates UI components in real time. The interface builds itself on demand, around your intent, turning responses into forms, charts, tables, and layouts that match what you're trying to accomplish.

The Business Case - Why Generative UI Matters Now

Generative UI not only provides a better experience for users; but also provides you with a competitive edge.

Personalization that scales: With Generative UI you don’t manage hundreds of layouts or run endless A/B tests. Instead you can serve millions of different combinations that are relevant, contextual and adapt to what each user wants. A finance dashboard might show line charts to one analyst and comparison tables to another, depending on what their intent is.

Speed as advantage: A product that is adaptive feels alive and intuitive. The ease of learning, increases engagement and adoption, and builds loyalty faster. While competitors guide their users through fixed workflows, you meet them where they are.

Cost savings: When interfaces generate themselves, your teams spend less time designing variants or maintaining redundant screens. Need to add a new data source? Update the logic once, and every relevant interface reflects it automatically. That's hours of design and dev work saved with every release.

Future-proof by design: As AI models get better, your UI does too. You're not redesigning from scratch every time there's a new capability. You're just teaching the interface to adapt.

For leaders, the question isn’t whether to move, but when. The longer teams depend on static design systems, the wider gap becomes between what you offer and what users expect.

If you're building AI-native products, agents, copilots, intelligent tools, generative UI is the infrastructure that makes modern AI interfaces possible.

However, this transition doesn't require you to discard your existing design system. You can start by identifying the highest-friction moments in your product. Places where users hit dead ends, export data to manipulate it elsewhere, or abandon tasks because the AI interfaces doesn't support their goal. Those become your entry points.

C1 by Thesys integrates seamlessly with your AI stack, from popular LLMs like OpenAI, Anthropic, etc. to frameworks like Vercel AI SDK, CopilotKit, Mastra, LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, Autogen, and Streamlit, helping you build Generative UI experiences that work everywhere.
